Millwall handed crushing injury blow while Leeds United get £20m Premier League transfer boost.
Millwall will have to make do without their on-loan Middlesbrough talisman for another run of fixtures this season.
The eyes of the Championship will turn to The Den this weekend as Millwall play host to Coventry City on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions have earned a reputation as one of the toughest teams to beat away from home after impressive wins over Leeds United and Burnley last month. It’s therefore a tough task for new Sky Blues boss Frank Lampard, who will want results quickly to prove his mettle in the second tier.

Millwall dealt injury blow
Millwall are set to be without striker Josh Coburn for at least eight weeks after the Middlesbrough loanee suffered a broken metatarsal during the side’s 1-1 draw with Oxford United last Saturday.
The 21-year-old limped off at half time in that fixture and now won’t play again until the New Year. It’s a significant blow for the striker, who had already missed a run of seven Championship fixtures through injury in September and October.
Millwall head coach Neil Harris told News at Den: “Josh Coburn has got a broken metatarsal, so he’s going to be in a boot for minimum six weeks. We’re certainly not going to see him for the next eight weeks.
“We’ll be quite fortunate if he’s on the same sort of time pathway as Jake Cooper. So we’re looking at January for both of them. But realistically we’re not going to see Josh for at least eight weeks.”
That blow comes as Millwall looked to spring off impressive wins against Leeds United and Burnley before the international break ahead of a busy run of festive fixtures. Pressure will now fall on Macaulay Langstaff and Mihailo Ivanovic to lead the line.
Frank Lampard reunited with former Everton man
Frank Lampard takes charge of his second Coventry City match this weekend as he visits Millwall. The Chelsea legend is having to get to know his new squad fast as the fixtures come quickly, but there is one Sky Blues star he is already familiar with.
Coventry striker Ellis Simms is a product of the Everton academy and worked with Lampard during his tenure at Goodison Park. The 23-year-old scored 13 goals last season and has three to his name this term.
