Fabrizio Romano confirms big boost for Everton as £42m star to leave his current club.
Everton will have one eye on the January transfer window with the opportunity to strengthen under new ownership.
The Friedkin Group are closing in on the takeover at Everton, and one of their first jobs will be to draw up a plan on players they potentially might want to invest in this January.
However, it remains to be seen as to how much the Toffees will be able to spend with FFP and PSR concerns.
One position that was being touted is a striker, as Beto has been linked with a move away and Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s contract is set to expire in June.
Interestingly, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on an Everton target, though it looks as if they may have to wait until the summer to sign him.

When speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Jonathan David is to leave Lille on a free transfer in the summer.
“Jonathan David so let me say once again what I keep repeating for weeks, months, Jonathan David will leave as a free agent. I know the president, Olivier Letang, and he said in an interview a few days ago that they made a proposal to extend the contract to Jonathan David.
“But the information I have is that the expectation is for Jonathan David is to say goodbye to Lille at the end of the season and to join another club as a free agent.
“There is interest from England, especially from Italy, they’re pushing a lot, so there are several possibilities for Jonathan David.”

Could Jonathan David be Calvert-Lewin’s replacement?
Jonathan David is very highly-rated across Europe, so it won’t be easy for Everton to sign him. He’s scored 15 goals in 22 games so far this season.
However, he has made it clear he’s interested in a Premier League move, so perhaps the new stadium could be an extra bonus for him to make his way to Everton.
A replacement looks like it will be needed for Calvert-Lewin, who is attracting interest and could also be leaving on a free transfer in the summer.
He’s only scored two in 14 games in the Premier League so he’s not exactly been prolific.
