The Friedkin Group could win over the fans immediately if they can correct the “financial instability” at Everton, Rufus Allirajah Lane has said.
The takeover process has been ongoing for months but with the end now seemingly just around the corner, things may start to look up for the Toffees.
The Blues returned to form at the right time with their 4-0 victory over Wolves on 4 December a particular highlight for fans at Goodison Park.
Writing for the Liverpool ECHO (9 December), Lane shared his thoughts on the impending new owner and how he can kick things off perfectly.
“With financial instability a common theme of the Moshiri-era, the possibility of that no longer being the case as Everton enter 2025 will be a sure-fire way for TFG to win over fans early into their tenure,” he wrote.

Since what feels like the start of the season, Sean Dyche’s role as Everton manager has been under scrutiny, with fans calling for his head on multiple occasions.
Indeed, it’s highly likely that the Englishman has been kept in his role for so long due to the current takeover status of the club but in reality, there may not be a better man for the job at Goodison Park.
The 53-year-old is a survival wizard and helped retain Burnley’s Premier League status for multiple years due to defensive methods.

Of course, the fact it’s still early days in the season also goes in the Toffees’ favour as, although they currently sit 15th in the table, they have a five-point gap between themselves and the drop zone and are just one point away from West Ham above.
Only time will tell what the future holds for Dyche and his men, but if they can perform as well as they did against Wolves, they could well be safe for another season.
