Ashley Williams slams Gary O’Neil for one comment he made after Wolves’ defeat to Ipswich
Wolves crashed to yet another defeat in the Premier League, this time losing against Ipswich Town at Molineux.
Wolves lost in the 93rd minute against the Tractor Boys having got the game back level at 1-1.
Wolves’ shocking ability to defend set-pieces came back to bite them once again, as Jack Taylor nodded in a corner at the death.
The defending was also poor on the first goal, with pundit Kris Boyd branding it ‘a comedy of errors’ from Wolves.
There were ugly scenes once again after the full-time whistle, with Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri both losing their heads.
O’Neil slammed Ait-Nouri for his behaviour, and Cunha could well face a ban.
It was just another desperately poor day at the office for Wolves and on Match of the Day last night, Ashley Williams was left aghast by one comment O’Neil made.
Speaking after the game to the BBC, O’Neil had said: “The ability of the team to cope at this level is proving unbelievably difficult for us.
“I’ve worked at this level, this is my third year now. And I’ve never had so much of a struggle to help a group cope with the level, in real basic stuff, real basic stuff.”
