Leeds want to submit £6m Essugo bid as permanent transfer clause emerges
Leeds United will have to fork out £6million to sign Dario Essugo from Sporting CP, according to Alan Nixon.
The journalist reports via his Patreon (15 December) that the Whites are considering ways to convince Sporting to sanction a deal for the 19-year-old in the January transfer window, although he is on loan at Las Palmas.
Daniel Farke’s side are prepared to offer a loan-to-buy agreement, but the Portuguese giants want the purchase to be guaranteed for around £6m regardless of the buyer’s promotion status.

Nixon adds that Leeds tried signing Essugo in the summer before Sporting sent him out on loan to Las Palmas.
The journalist is confident that the 19-year-old would be a “class” signing for the West Yorkshire-based club as they look to secure promotion.
However, it remains to be seen if the Elland Road outfit are prepared to commit to paying £6m for the midfielder next summer.
Leeds made Joe Rodon’s loan move from Tottenham permanent for a deal worth around £10m [BBC] and although the sum for Essugo is lower, it remains a significant amount of money for a teenager.
Therefore, the Championship club will likely try to convince Sporting to agree to a loan deal with an option to buy instead of an obligation to buy.
