Everton will likely bestow the honour of playing the first match at the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium to either the Women’s side or the Under-21s, according to The Telegraph.

The newspaper reported via its website (28 December) that both Blues sides are in contention to play the first match at the Liverpool waterfront venue, with 10,000 supporters invited to attend.

Everton to hold first test match at Bramley-Moore Dock
While either the Women’s side or the U21s will miss out on the opportunity to cut the ribbon at Bramley-Moore Dock, whoever misses out on the occasion should not feel disheartened.

Everton will host a series of matches at the new venue while slowly increasing the capacity of spectators ahead of the grand reveal at the start of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

The Women’s side would certainly benefit from the momentum-lifting fixture – Brian Sorensen is fighting a relegation battle in the Women’s Super League approaching the New Year as ACL injuries have ravaged his squad.

However, the U21s could also benefit from being chosen for the Bramley-Moore curtain raiser with supporters and/or Sean Dyche and The Friedkin Group in attendance.
