Postecoglou walking himself off the Tottenham plank as Dorrington update emerges.
Ange Postecoglou is certainly feeling the heat at Tottenham as supporters continue to call for him to be sacked.
Fans have started to lead protests in North London, and while these are aimed at Daniel Levy’s lack of investment on the pitch, this could lead to the manager’s demise off the pitch.
Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Ben Davies, Guglielmo Vicario, Richarlison, Radu Dragusin, Wilson Odobert and Mikey Moore are all sidelined at Hotspur Way.
While managers are usually berated for “making excuses” when it comes to injuries and on-pitch results, few can blame Postecoglou for pointing the finger at his number of key absences.
Spurs have fallen to 12th in the Premier League table, most recently losing back-to-back matches against Liverpool and Nottingham Forest, leaving the Australian skating on very thin ice.
However, Postecoglou continues to shoot himself in the foot, not just by lashing out at members of the media and questionable first-team choices, but also by failing to rely on his academy stars.
Ange Postecoglou should rely on Alfie Dorrington at Tottenham
Archie Gray has been paired up with Dragusin in the absence of Spurs’ first choices, but with the latter now picking up his own injury, Alfie Dorrington could be their saviour.
The 19-year-old, who only has one senior appearance to his name, looks ready to write his name in Spurs history but Postecoglou has already shut down any chance of that happening.

With upcoming fixtures against Newcastle United and Liverpool and no sign of first-choice players returning in time, Postecoglou could regret his decision not to promote the youngster.
Bissouma already makes a number of mistakes in midfield so placing him in the penalty area could be chaotic over the next few weeks.
