Norwich City join Blackburn Rovers in race for Reading FC star.
Norwich City are the latest team to have taken an interest in Reading centre-back Tyler Bindon.
According to Darren Witcoop, they had scouts watching the New Zealand international in action on Boxing Day, when the Royals hosted Northampton Town.
The Berkshire outfit secured a 4-1 victory that day, with goals from Harvey Knibbs, Sam Smith, Charlie Savage and Mamadi Camara sealing all three points for Noel Hunt’s men.
But with cash flow issues likely to be a problem and a takeover not yet materialising at this stage, many of the League One side’s fans are fearing a potential fire sale of players during the upcoming winter window.
One player who has attracted a considerable amount of interest is Bindon, who is only 19 at this stage but has been one of the first names on the teamsheet for the Royals since the early stages of the 2023/24 campaign.
Making the transition to English football seamlessly, his performances have allowed the Royals to minimise the number of goals they have conceded, whilst also allowing him to impress other clubs.

His contract at the Select Car Leasing Stadium expires at the end of the 2024/25 campaign, and with this and the interest in him in mind, he looks like a strong candidate to depart Berkshire during the upcoming window.

Witcoop has reported that both Norwich and Blackburn had scouts at the SCL Stadium on Boxing Day to watch Bindon, ahead of a potential January swoop.
The same journalist has added that the player is expected to leave Berkshire during the transfer window, with no shortage of clubs interested in him.
FLW understands Coventry City, Hull City and Watford are also interested in striking a deal for the centre-back, who looks destined to move on if the Royals’ cash flow situation doesn’t improve in the coming weeks.

It has been revealed that Grant Hanley could potentially move on during the January window.
That could open up a spot for Bindon to come in and assert himself as a key part of the Canaries’ squad.
He may only be 19 at this stage, but he has shown maturity beyond his years on the pitch and is extremely intelligent both on and off the ball, which could make him a very shrewd addition at Carrow Road.
However, they won’t be short of competition for his signature.
They could make a big profit on the defender if they win the race so the Canaries should be open to offering a little more to get this deal over the line.
