Journeo drives Stoke’s travel upgrade with new deal

Ashby-based information systems provider Journeo has won a £1.4m contract from Stoke City Council to supply and support real-time passenger information technology.

The deal is part of the council’s £10m Bus Service Improvement Plan, funded by the Department for Transport.

It includes installing and maintaining Journeo’s latest double-sided TFT displays along key transport routes.

The displays will show real-time departure information and feature discreet CCTV for enhanced safety, especially for lone passengers and nighttime travellers.

Journeo will also introduce infrastructure-free QR codes, allowing passengers to scan with their smartphones to access up-to-date travel information.
