What Wolves are now planning to do after failed Kevin Danso transfer approach
Wolves look set to be one of England’s busiest clubs during the January transfer window.
The Old Gold want to make multiple signings. The club could also sanction some sales, including Sam Johnstone, who is available for transfer from Wolves.
Mario Lemina is another player linked with leaving Wolves. The Gabon international is a target for Saudi side Al Shabab and could complete a move before the end of the month.
In terms of incomings, Wolves’ owners have already agreed a deal to sign Stade Reims central defender Emmanuel Agbadou.
Vitor Pereira’s interest in centre-backs hasn’t ended there though.
Wolves still want to sign Kevin Danso
RC Lens defender Kevin Danso has been a long-time target for Wolves.
The Austrian defender is highly-regarded by Pereira, and, in an ideal world, would also join and work alongside the incoming Agbadou.
Signing the 26-year-old hasn’t been easy though. Danso has already rejected the chance to sign for Wolves.
However, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the Old Gold’s pursuit isn’t over and the club could attempt to lure the defender to Molineux again before the close of the window though.
“That isn’t the end of Wolves’ business,” he said on NBC Sports. “They’re looking to bring in another central defender as well, if they can.
“Kevin Danso, formerly of Southampton, now at Lens, also in France, (is) among the options that they admire.”
