Arne Slot makes ‘reckless’ Lucas Bergvall claim after Tottenham vs Liverpool
Tottenham’s win over Liverpool was shrouded in controversy, with Reds boss Arne Slot having his say.
Tottenham picked up a huge win over Liverpool on Wednesday night to ensure they take a one-goal lead to Anfield for their Carabao Cup semi-final second leg. Lucas Bergvall scored the all-important winner in a scrappy game, although it was a game full of controversy, and Bergvall was at centre stage.
At the time of Bergvall’s goal, Liverpool were temporarily down to 10 men due to Kostas Tsimikas receiving treatment and not being allowed back onto the pitch due to a phase of play being in motion.
Speaking about that incident, Liverpool boss Arne Slot said after the game: “It was a good goal, let that be clear. A ball in behind, a cut-back cross, Bergvall scoring, stayed really calm, finished it off, but I don’t think you’re interested in that. I think you’re interested in the moment before. When I just walked in, I think I saw Ange sitting here on Sunday, something happened and I think Spurs weren’t happy with a few decisions that were made on Sunday and many people always say that this will eventually match up in the end of the season.
