Sacked just over a week ago, manager named as potential Sean Dyche replacement at Everton.
Everton manager Sean Dyche could face a decisive night on Thursday as his side take on League One strugglers Peterborough United.
Two games into the new year, Everton have failed to pick up a single point after losing against both Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth.
Sean Dyche’s role at Everton is under assessment by The Friedkin Group who have now been on Merseyside a number of weeks.

Results need to improve over the coming weeks with the Toffees sitting dangerously close to the relegation zone.
Everton have now missed out on Graham Potter as he has joined West Ham United, but there are other managers still on their radar.

Everton could eye Paulo Fonseca as Sean Dyche successor
One potentially controversial name which the Toffees could move for as Everton are eyeing is Sir Gareth Southgate following his exit from the England role.
However, there is a manager even more recently out of work that the Friedkins may consider.

‘Told by a good source’: Sky Sports reporter shares what he’s heard about new manager from inside Everton
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Everton reporter Alan Myers has claimed former AC Milan manager Paulo Fonseca could be a name looked at after being sacked last month.
“So yes, Dyche’s future is very much up in the air. And if he were to be replaced, who would come into Everton? We know Graham Potter was one the Friedkin Group spoke to but he is in place at West Ham,” he said.
“Another linked with the role is Paulo Fonseca, who was recently sacked at AC Milan. He’s been in charge of Lille, Roma and Porto, to name a few clubs over recent years.”
Dyche has spoken with the Friedkins following their latest defeat against Bournemouth where their desire to improve results was shared.
And it seems as if work is going on behind the scenes to sound out potential replacements for the 53-year-old.

Paulo Fonseca could help Everton land Samuel Chukwueze
With a new forward on the club’s agenda, Everton are showing interest in Samuel Chukwueze from AC Milan.
This is a player who Fonseca will be all too familiar with the Nigerian having played 22 times under the Portuguese manager.
Fonseca is a fan of the winger as he has previously praised Chukwueze’s work ethic in also providing defensive cover from out wide.
“I was also very pleased with the way Chukwueze played this role, who came back into the box twice to play fifth. This module gives us balance,” Fonseca said in a press conference last month.
Having played more games under Fonseca than any other manager perhaps this could boost Everton’s attempts to land the player.
