Everton could be close to new transfer as Premier League winner jets in
Willian arriving in London for discussions with his agents over an immediate transfer should leave Everton on high alert.
Fabrizio Romano posted on X (23 January) that the former Chelsea winger is in London to “assess options” after leaving Olympiacos, with at least three English clubs keen on him.
The Toffees have been offered the chance to sign the 36-year-old on a free transfer (Paul Joyce, 16 January), as the Brazilian looks set for a Premier League return.
Everton can kick-start transfer business with Willian signing
While a 36-year-old winger who has just left the Greek Super League of his own accord isn’t quite the marquee signing Blues fans thought they’d be getting this winter, Willian could still be a solid addition.
The Friedkin Group’s takeover last month promises a bright future on the blue half of Merseyside, but with financial and PSR restrictions still a very real issue at Goodison Park, their activity has been limited.
Strengthening the right flank has long since been a priority for the Toffees ahead of the winter transfer window, and while several other names have been linked, none are available on free transfers like Willian.
