Sheffield Wednesday snap up exciting attacker in latest transfer swoop.
Sheffield Wednesday have completed the loan signing of Dutch winger, Ibrahim Cissoko.
The Star reported yesterday that Wednesday were keen to try and get a deal done for the 21-year-old, and now his arrival – on loan from Toulouse – has been confirmed.
“The Owls have signed Ibrahim Cissoko from French Ligue 1 side Toulouse,” a statement from the club read. “The exciting wideman joins Wednesday on a loan deal for the remainder of the season. Cissoko is predominantly a left winger who can also play on the right, utilising explosive pace down both flanks.
“The Dutch Under-21 international started his career in Holland with VVV Venlo, also representing Vitesse Arnhem and NEC Nijmegen before switching to France and Toulouse in the summer of 2023. A year later, Cissoko moved to England with Plymouth on a season-long loan at Home Park. Toulouse exercised a recall clause this month and the 21-year-old continues his journey here at Hillsborough.”
He was announced ahead of the game against Luton Town with the timing suggesting that the deal may have been done too late for him to feature against the Hatters.
