Newcastle United set for exciting wonderkid announcement before winter transfer window shuts.
The Magpies have been in talks to sign a star that is deemed a future Turkey international.
Newcastle United are hoping to finalise a deal for exciting prospect Baran Yildiz.
The Magpies were locked in talks with Turkish side Gençlerbirligi on Friday with the club’s general manager admitting the deal is close. Newcastle see the 18-year-old as an exciting prospect and a star that could impact the senior squad in time.
The Turkish club’s general manager Ali Ekber Düzgün said: “Baran’s transfer is left to the official signature. It has not been officially finalized yet. But as long as there are no surprises, our young football player is on his way to England.”

And sources on Tyneside say that the club are looking to tie the youngster down in due course. The Super Lig side say that selling Yildiz to the Magpies can help them bolster their own finances with Real Madrid and Turkey star Arda Guler one of their success stories of the past.
Guler started life at Gençlerbirligi before a move to Fenerbahçe then the global giants. Düzgün said: “It is a great success for our player to be transferred from the youth academy to a Premier League team. I hope he finds a place in his new team. Because as long as he is in the team, Gençlerbirliği’s earnings from this transfer will increase.
Our club also has a share in his next sale. I hope that Baran will provide new earnings to the club that trained him as he progresses in his career, as in the case of Arda Güler.”
Newcastle are in the market for younger players despite no senior breakthroughs this month. They have already signed up Irish whizzkid Kyle Fitzgerald from Galway and Yidiz will soon follow.
A contract until 2029 is on the table for the teenager with Newcastle looking to win the race for his signature this weekend. Sporting director Paul Mitchell has been working closely with Academy staff to get the deal over the line.
