New Phoenix Suns Trade Rumor Doesn’t Bode Well for Jimmy Butler Miami Heat.
With the Feb. 6 NBA trade deadline less than a week away, everyone continues to watch the ongoing drama between Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat. Of course, Butler has demanded a trade out of Miami, and the Heat have been actively searching for a trade suitor for the six-time All-Star. There have been multiple teams mentioned who have expressed interest in acquiring him, but the main team mentioned is the Phoenix Suns. It has been reported that Butler’s preferred landing spot is in Phoenix so that he can pair up with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. Of course, that
leaves Bradley Beal as the odd man out and if the Suns want Butler, they are going to have to find a team willing to take on Beal’s massive contract. While Beal’s contract is going to be hard to trade for Phoenix, he also has a no-trade clause, so they must find a team that he is willing to join as well. So far, they have been unable to do so and with the Heat uninterested in adding him to their roster, a Butler to Phoenix deal may no longer be an option. This is massive news considering the fact that Phoenix has shown the most interest of any team in acquiring Butler. Despite this, with them unable to find a third team to facilitate the trade
and take on Beal’s contract, it is likely that Phoenix’s big three will remain the same after the trade deadline. For the Heat, this is also massive news. Phoenix has been the most active in trade discussions for Butler, so if they are now out of the running, Miami will have to find another team, which may be difficult. Butler has told some teams not to trade for him due to him not wanting to sign an extension, so the Heat may see a lack of interest if they do not change their asking price. Because of this, it is likely that Butler may not wind up in Phoenix after all.
