Nottingham Forest transfer latest on four deals as 11pm deadline looms.
With just hours to go before the transfer deadline hits here’s the latest Nottingham Forest gossip and rumours.
The 2025 January transfer window is coming to a close in just 11 hours Nottingham Forest fans are looking on tentatively as they are hoping for some big new signings to keep them in the top four – here’s the latest gossip and rumours.
Tyler Bindon
According to The Telegraph, Forest has their eye on New Zealand centre-back Tyler Bindon from Reading. Viewed as one for the future, it is said a deal to loan the 20-year-old back to the League One side for the rest of the season would be considered.
Despite the clubs reportedly being in talks, Bindon was asked about speculation about his future earlier this month when he insisted his focus was on continuing to play for Reading.
Yoane Wissa
Earlier in the window Forest was reportedly showing strong interest in Brentford’s Yoane Wissa as a potential striking option alongside Chris Wood.
The BBC reported that the clubs was willing to fork-out in excess of £20 million to bring Wissa to The City Ground although their Premier League rivals have always insisted Wissa would not be for sale, and it seems they are determined to maintain that stance right up until tonight’s 11pm deadline.
Taiwo Awoniyi
With the striker now struggling for regular and consistent game time with his 21 appearances often coming off the bench, it was thought Awoniyi may be on his way out with several Premier League clubs interested.
Picking up links with both Everton and West Ham, talks of a transfer away from Forest have now quietened with it now looking like the 27-year-old will stay-put for the rest of the season.
A deal is looking close to completion for a loan move to Swansea City for Lewis O’Brian. The midfielder who made a name for himself with a couple of promising seasons at Huddersfield Town moved to Forest in July 2022 but has since struggled to find his feet.
With a loan spell in Middlesbrough and two spells in the MLS, O’Brian looks like he’ll be heading back to the Championship but this time in South Wales.
Although the 26-year-old may be staying in the Midlands after being strongly linked with a move to Derby County who are looking to bolster their midfield.
