In what has been a rough season for Wolves, Saturday almost might have been scripted by a well-known Danish brewery.
A crucial derby win which catapulted them out of the bottom three, bruising defeats for their two closest rivals in the Premier League relegation zone and a victory-sealing goal from their star player, who in the final flourish of the evening ended any immediate speculation over his future by signing a new contract. Even the Albion lost.
One day, no matter how close to perfect it was, hasn’t solved everything. This is still a flawed Wolves team who still have plenty of hard work ahead if they are to retain their top flight status.
Yet you feel a whole lot better about their chances of doing so, than you did on Saturday morning.
