Norwich Complete Signing of Brighton Starlet

Norwich City have completed the signing of central defender Ruairi McConville from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion. The 19-year-old centre-back has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract for a reported fee of £1 million which could rise to around £2.75 million. The Northern Ireland international will wear the number 15. This is expected to allow Norwich defender Brad Hills to depart the club on loan, with Stockport being the favourites.

Norwich Complete the Signing of Ruairi McConville From Brighton
He becomes Norwich’s fifth signing of the window after the Canaries signed Lewis Dobbin on loan from Aston Villa, Matej Jurasek on a permanent from Slavia Prague, Anis Ben Slimane on a permanent after he spent the first half of the season on loan with the Canaries and Alan Domernacki from Dundee United.

McConville spent time in his youth at Linfield, before joining Brighton in 2021. The defender recently made his senior debut for the Seagulls, featuring from the bench against Norwich in the Emirates FA Cup.

Before that, he made his senior international debut for Northern Ireland in November 2024, featuring in a UEFA Nations League victory over Belarus.
