After Facundo Buonanotte another Leicester City player tried to force a deadline day exit.
It was a disappointing end to the 2025 transfer window, with two players trying to leave Leicester City the biggest talking point.
Despite only making one addition during the entire month of January, it became evident very early on deadline day that Leicester City wouldn’t make any signings.
Ruud van Nistelrooy wanted four players when he first took over from Steve Cooper but has been forced to settle for just one.
Woyo Coulibably arrived for £3m and despite netting £10m from the Tom Cannon transfer, the Foxes did no business on Monday.
The main talking point coming out of the King Power on February 3rd was that Facundo Buonanotte wanted to leave Leicester and return to Brighton and Hove Albion.
However, after already playing the required number of games, the Seagulls could not recall him and it was instead down to the Foxes to cancel his deal, which did not happen.
Conor Coady pushed to secure Wolves return on deadline day
Away from a potential Buonanotte exit, Kasey McAteer had interest from Sunderland but he ended up staying put.
It’s not known if McAteer was keen to leave, but one other star was certainly eager to depart on deadline day.
The closest Leicester came to a new arrival was when a swap deal between Conor Coady and Craig Dawson was touted.
Coady would have been returning to his old club but a deal was quickly quashed and an update on the situation has now emerged via the Mirror.
They report that the centre-back pushed hard to get a Wolverhampton Wanderers return but Leicester decided against sanctioning the deal.

Leicester fans probably weren’t overly thrilled about signing Dawson given his age, but a deal may have benefited the Foxes.
Coady has been woeful this season and the stopper staying put when he wanted a move is no good for anybody.
Granted, Dawson wouldn’t have been a complete game-change had he arrived, but it would have been something different with it obvious Coady just doesn’t work at Leicester anymore.
Regardless, though he didn’t leave on deadline day, it now looks likely the defender will be on his way this summer.
