The Phoenix Suns are going to have a very, very busy 48 hours leading up to the NBA trade deadline. With the Los Angeles Lakers acquiring Luka Doncic, the San Antonio Spurs dealing for De’Aaron Fox and Anthony Davis on his way to the Dallas Mavericks — there is no shortage of groundbreaking deals that have been made. Phoenix’s current roster, right now, isn’t good enough to compete for an NBA title. They might have an issue in their hot pursuit of acquiring Jimmy Butler, too. The Suns won’t be able to make a move for Butler unless Bradley Beal waives his no-trade clause. As things stand now, it doesn’t appear the star guard will do that. Wizards — where he initially arrived from — along with Oso Ighodaro. Phoenix would also have to send Ryan Dunn to the Miami Heat, who also acquire Richaun Holmes. Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma would be on his way to the Milwaukee Bucks, who give up Khris Middleton — who would then join Washington. Those are only the players involved, too. (@PHNX_Suns) February 4, 2025 The trade is quite complex, and, along with having to be agreed upon by all four teams, Beal would have to waive his no-trade clause. Should it happen, or something similar, then a Kevin Durant trade out of Phoenix wouldn’t have to happen and both the Suns and Butler can be happy.
