According to several reports, both Wilson and Jarrett Stidham, as impending free agents, are unlikely to return since the Broncos seem to have their answer at the quarterback position. Bo Nix turned a lot of heads this past 2024 campaign so it’s no surprise why they feel confident as their main guy, but the Broncos will still need a backup. However, Stidham probably has a better chance of returning since he’s more capable of being a backup, meanwhile, Wilson is still young and probably only has one more chance for a starting position at 25.

Originally selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the former BYU product came to the Broncos in a trade from the New York Jets after spending three seasons there. However, Wilson was never able to adjust to NFL Life, which is why the Jets thought it was time to move on. The young quarterback never got a legitimate opportunity in Denver, but he still has a lot in the tank to be a homegrown signal-caller for a new roster. It’s hard to imagine what type of deal he receives, but he might have to settle for a one-year deal.

No one will sign him to become the starter, but a team could take a chance to see what he could be capable of as the backup. Wilson took advantage to see greatness in Nix and with wisdom, he might be able to shine with a new team.

The Carolina Panthers came into the 2024 season thinking they didn’t have their franchise quarterback. After benching Bryce Young for a couple of weeks, the team realizes Young is their guy since returning and showing a lot of promise despite the five-win season for the Panthers. However, even though Young’s job is safe, it doesn’t mean head coach Dave Canales won’t bench him if he continues to be an issue for the offense. Canales has done it before and they should bring in someone like Zach Wilson to help keep this roster a worthy competitor.

Andy Dalton is aging and will hit the free-agent market. This means the Panthers will need a backup either way. Perhaps, Wilson could revive his career with Carolina even as a solid backup and might have a shot of competing for the job if Young underperforms.

Backing up Carr or Rattler?
There’s no realistic idea of what the Saints will do with quarterback Derek Carr even though the front staff has his full support, it will be up to the next head coach on what he wants to do. This is why Kellen Moore is second-guessing heading to New Orleans since he says the team doesn’t have a capable quarterback. After that, it wasn’t too long for the Saints to express in belief in Spencer Rattler being the full-time starter. Since Carr refuses to take a pay cut, it might be safe to release him to save the Saints from salary cap hell.

However, they should bring in Zach Wilson to see if he can perform at a high level while Rattler adjusts in his second year and takes over as the face of the franchise the following season.

Tua Tagovailoa will be the quarterback for the Dolphins as long as he stays healthy. However, after two brutal seasons, it doesn’t look like that’ll be the case after sustaining two scary injuries that may wind up costing his career. The Dolphins should sign Wilson as a safety net while they explore drafting a new quarterback in this year’s draft.

Trade Proposal Has Bears Sending Kyler Gordon to AFC for Former DPOY.

Fans of the Chicago Bears have worked themselves into a tizzy over news of the latest NFL star to request a trade, and their excitement is understandable.

In a statement shared through NFL insider Ian Rapoport, reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns on February 3. Cleveland has reached the playoffs just two times in Garrett’s eight years with the team, and the veteran defensive end expressed a desire to play for a contender.

After finishing with a 5-12 mark in 2024, the Bears certainly don’t fall into that category, but considering general manager Ryan Poles’ history of being aggressive on the trade market coupled with Chicago’s need for a top-tier pass rusher, trading for Garrett is a a definite possibility.

Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay put together the five most logical trade partners for Garrett, and the Bears were No. 1. “Adding Garrett into the mix would supercharge a Chicago defense that struggled in 2024,” Kay wrote, adding:

“The Bears allowed the sixth-most yards per game in the league and recorded only 40 sacks and 11 interceptions on the year. Chicago already employs one of the NFL’s better edge defenders in Montez Sweat, but the 28-year-old took a step back and recorded only 5.5 sacks during his first full season in the Windy City. Pairing him with Garrett would create a devastating duo that would terrorize opposing quarterbacks.”

Bears fans may bristle at Kay’s proposed trade package, though, as it involves shipping off one of the team’s top young defensive backs in Kyler Gordon.

He amassed 75 total tackles (48 solo, 4.0 for loss), 0.5 sacks, 5 passes defended, 2 QB hits and a forced fumble, also recovering 3 fumbles. He was the only player new Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen singled out when meeting with the media for the first time.
