Now that Sky’s beloved transfer window has slammed shut and we’ve had a couple of days to digest it, where has it left City?

After several weeks of the inevitable day-to-day speculation about the potential incoming and outgoings at Carrow Road, it is certainly a good thing that Johannes Hoff Thorup now knows for certain the hand he has to play for the rest of the season.
What follows is purely my own view. If you disagree, please feel free to tell us in the comments below.

Let’s hope so, but can a leopard change his spots? And if you take away that ‘edge’ do you take away part of the player? Only time will tell but in the heat of a Championship battle, it’s so easy to revert to your natural ways.
Opposition players will know he has a low boiling point and try their level best to wind him up and get a reaction. Refs too will have him on their radar and be looking to stamp on his slightest misdemeanour, so his teammates will need to play a role in helping him channel his natural feistiness.

Jacob Wright earns the approval of Pep Guardiola
It seems City had been watching young Jacob for a number of months in the hope that he might become available. Luckily for us, his proposed move to Swansea, which appeared to be going through smoothly last Friday, collapsed around Monday lunchtime.
Now call me an old cynic, but just maybe City used Wright’s long-time friend – one Mr Callum Doyle – to let him know that Norwich City were also very interested in him, especially as we desperately need a bona fide defensive midfielder.
Oddly, it’s been quoted in some articles that Wright was told he was part of Pep’s and Manchester City’s plans going forward.
It appears that Norwich have a loan-to-buy option and would they have been scouting him for so long if they don’t intend to buy? Was the loan just a way of getting the deal done before the deadline?
Again, we’ll see
