Dave Edwards: Impressive Wolves debutant a dying breed..
I think everybody was impressed with Munetsi on his Wolves bow. He was playing very high initially, getting on the end of things, but then went to drop deeper.
It was quite refreshing to see someone breaking from the heart of the midfield, running beyond the strikers, to get into the box on the end of something.
It was the position I like to play but it is a dying breed in football, those box-to-box midfielders. It’s great to see not only does he have the athleticism to do it, but his runs were clever as well.
Wolves boss delighted with defensive powerhouses..
Back-to-back 2-0 wins has given Wolves some more momentum – with Toti Gomes now recording a clean sheet in all four of his games under Pereira this season.
The head coach has been vocal about the balance Toti gives to the side, but also says moving Emmanuel Agbadou to the middle of the back three has helped the defence as he praises the pair for their ability to win duels.
“It’s important, but not only to have the right player on the left side, but to have the right player in the middle too,” Pereira said when asked about Toti’s form.
