Toughest opposition’ for Leeds United – Daniel Farke warned about ‘massive test’
Leeds United sit at the summit of the Championship table and are massive favourites to earn automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season. Despite their FA Cup exit at the hands of Millwall, the Whites remain the most consistent team in the league and are on a terrific run of form, which involves five straight clean sheets. The Yorkshire giants are set to travel to Vicarage Road to take on Watford tonight in a key Championship clash.
The Hornets are in poor form, winning just one of their last nine games. However, a trip to Hertfordshire is never easy for any team in the league and Leeds have been warned getting a result is not a given.
The Whites are sitting comfortably at the top of the league table and are looking like a team who are on their way back to the top flight at the end of the campaign.
However, the Championship remains a notoriously difficult league to predict and even the most benign of games on paper have a way of springing up surprising results.
Watford are not in form at the moment, winning just one of their last nine league games but they are coming into the fixture against Leeds United with some confidence following a 2-2 draw at promotion-chasing Sunderland.
Leeds should be getting all three points given the gulf between the two sides but as I said, in the Championship no team are ever away from producing a shock result and Watford are still a decent side on paper.
When the two sides met early in the season, Leeds narrowly edged out the Hornets 2-1 at Elland Road and Watford boss Tom Cleverly has not forgotten that result.
