West Brom youngster Josh Shaw has joined Marine on loan, as announced by their official club website.
West Brom have given the prospect the green light to head out the exit door on a temporary basis. He is due to return to WBA in a month’s time.
Shaw, 21, has played once for the Baggies’ first-team so far in his career. His sole appearance came in an FA Cup tie against Aldershot Town in January 2024.
In this latest update, the Midlands outfit have confirmed that he has linked up with Marine for the next four weeks. The National League North side are sat 20th in the table above Needham Market.
After landing him, their boss Neil Young has told their website: “We are looking to strengthen the squad in certain areas and I’m sure that won’t come as a surprise to anyone. Josh Is left-footed and can play in a number of positions on that left side defensively.
“He has good quality, is a good size and was really keen to join us, which is always key when lads are coming from league clubs. I would like to thank WBA for allowing Josh to join us.”
West Brom loan exit for Josh Shaw
Shaw spent time at Everton before linking up with West Brom.
He has since been a regular for the Baggies at various different youth levels.

The full-back saw his contract with the Championship side extended last summer.
He has been a key player for their Under-23’s side over recent times and can play as a winger as well if needed.

Shaw’s switch to Marine is a chance for him to get some regular senior football under his belt to boost his development.
His chances of breaking into West Brom’s starting XI at this moment in time are slim as they eye promotion to the Premier League.
Marine were promoted from the Northern Premier League last year after they beat Macclesfield in the play-off final. However, the step up has since proved to be hard.
What now for West Brom?
West Brom will keep tabs on Shaw’s progress in non-league and see how he does.
