Jets Getting ‘Control Back’ With Aaron Rodgers Decision
One of the New York Jets’ biggest decisions this offseason was to determine what they wanted to do with Aaron Rodgers. And they didn’t waste too much time in figuring out what they wanted to do with the four-time MVP winner, and it was agreed to part ways. Part of it was likely due to Rodgers’ salary,
but even more so was his play on the field, which left a lot to be desired for most of the year. But now we have another wrinkle in the discussion of what led to Rodgers leaving New York. The Athletic’s Dianna Russini was told that one of the big ultimatums put to Rodgers was that the franchise wanted a total buy-in, which included no more interviews on the Pat McAfee Show.
I was told that when they had conversations with Aaron Rodgers about what the future would look like, if you’re going to be part of this team you’re going to attend all of training camp,” Russini said on the Scoop City podcast. “You’re not going to do Pat McAfee interviews anymore. They had a conversation with him of, ‘If you were to stay here, here is how we would want it to be.’ “So this to me is Aaron Glenn getting control back.”
