Kevin Durant Breaks Silence On Not Wanting Trade to the Warriors..
Former Texas Longhorn and current NBA superstar Kevin Durant finally revealed why he did not want to be traded by the Phoenix Suns back to the Golden State Warriors. In his third year with the Suns, Durant was rumored to be a potential trade target for the Warriors during the NBA trade
deadline. While Golden State showed interest in reuniting the star power forward with superstar Stephen Curry, Durant vocalized that he wouldn’t want to go back with his former team, leaving many fans and analysts wondering why he didn’t even tolerate the idea. During an interview with NBA Today host, Malika Andrews, Durant cleared the air on why he didn’t want to be traded to the Warriors at the trade deadline. The superstar made it known that he did not have anything against his former team, but that he was happy in Phoenix. “It was nothing against my time with the
Warriors… At the end of the day, I just didn’t want to move,” said Durant setting the record straight about the rumors. Durant’s tone seems like he has found a home in Phoenix, and does not seem to be interested in joining any other NBA squad. He has been one of the tip scorers in the league this season, as he has for much of his career. The power forward has amounted to 27.3 point per game, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in the 2024-25 season.
