Ruud van Nistelrooy knows what Wolves and Ipswich have amid Odsonne Edouard and Jamie Vardy woes
Leicester City have scored just four goals in their last 10 Premier League games with their conversion rate falling through the floor to leave them in deep trouble
Odsonne Edouard must overtake Patson Daka in the pecking order to get his Leicester City chance with Ruud van Nistelrooy ruling out the possibility of including two strikers on the bench.
The Crystal Palace loanee has not played a single minute since van Nistelrooy took charge and has only been in a matchday squad once.
Since the Dutchman arrived, Jamie Vardy has been the number one striker with Daka his deputy on the bench, the Zambian featuring in all but one of the manager’s 14 games in charge.
But despite a lack of goals – City scoring just four times in their last 10 Premier League fixtures – van Nistelrooy will not include two strikers among his substitutes.
Van Nistelrooy said of Edouard: “He has some minor issues that he couldn’t train, but most of the time he’s training, he’s competing for two places with Jamie and Patson, and so far, I’ve been picking the first two.
“Always (I have sympathy for him). He’s the one who is competing. If I see in training sessions that he can do something better or that he will be of more value than one of the other two, then he will be in the squad and will make minutes.
