Colts’ LG Quenton Nelson ranks 50th in ‘PFF 101’ following another standout campaign..
Colts’ star left guard Quenton Nelson earned another honor for the 5x NFL All-Pro and 7x NFL Pro Bowler.
According to PFF, Indianapolis Colts All-Pro offensive guard Quenton Nelson was ranked 50th in their ‘Top 101’ players after the end of the 2024 season:
50. G Quenton Nelson, Indianapolis Colts..
Nelson was the best guard in football across his first three seasons in the league, leading them all with a 91.3 PFF grade from 2018-2020. He wasn’t nearly as effective across his following three years, placing 19th among all guards with a 72.3 grade in that span.
The 28-year-old got back to his elite ways this past season, placing fourth among all guards with an 81.3 PFF grade. He was one of only two guards in the NFL with top-five grades both as a pass blocker and as a run blocker. Nelson wrapped up the season as the second-most-valuable guard in the league according to our wins above replacement metric.
Nelson joined his Colts teammates DeForest Buckner (#92nd) and Bernhard Raimann (88th) on this year’s ranking—coming in near midway at the 50th overall spot.
Nelson finished as PFF’s highest graded left guard with a +81.3 overall grade—including a +79.7 pass blocking grade. In pass protection, Nelson allowed just 3.0 sacks and 20 total QB pressures during 608 total pass blocking snaps. In run blocking, he helped pave the way for star workhorse Jonathan Taylor to eclipse 1,400 rushing yards and 10+ rushing touchdowns.
While each other Colts starting offensive linemen missed time during 2024, Nelson was the unit’s one true catalyst—anchoring the interior during all 17 starts, en route to earning 2nd-Team NFL All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors this past season.
Unfortunately for Colts fans he may be the highest graded Indianapolis player on this year’s composite ranking—as it was a down season for the Horseshoe collectively.
