‘No signs’ Brighton will resume talks after failed transfer – ‘Not ended well’ between Seagulls and player..
Earlier this month, Brighton & Hove Albion were keen on agreeing a deal with Brøndby IF for Clement Bischoff to arrive at The Amex in the summer.
The two clubs reached an agreement and the left-back reportedly travelled to England to carry out medical tests with the Seagulls.
On February 10th, Tipsbladet reported the transfer didn’t go through due to a last-minute disagreement between Bischoff and Brighton.
BT in Denmark talks about the 19-year-old’s failed transfer to the Premier League club and discusses if there’s a chance for the two parties to resume talks.
At this moment in time, Brighton have no plans to sign the youngster. This information was provided by BT journalist Lasse Vøge during the outlet’s podcast Transfervinduet.
He found out from sources that neither the Denmark U21 international nor Brighton want to revisit this case. The BT editor indicates things haven’t ended well between the two parties.
“You have seen before that a transfer didn’t come to fruition in one window, but then came to fruition in the next, because there is, after all, a match,” he said.
“Brighton identified Bischoff as a player who could make a difference, and he probably also made up his mind in his head that he should play there.”
“But what we are hearing now is that there are no signs that this trade will resume. Of course, that cannot be said with certainty. Our sources say neither party are interested in resuming talks. It indicates that it hasn’t ended well.”
Bischoff operated as a left wing-back this season, managing two goals and eight assists from 25 matches for Brøndby. The journalist still backs him to make a big jump despite a failed move to Brighton.
“It may be that he ends up at an even cooler address,” Vøge explained.
