Muslic previews important home meeting with Cardiff

Three days after returning from Luton Town with a point, Argyle are quickly back in action against another team who are searching for points to draw them away from the Sky Bet Championship relegation zone.

Saturday lunchtime sees Cardiff City visit Home Park, the Bluebirds heading south three places and three points above their weekend’s hosts.

Argyle’s week on the road yielded just one point, with the 1-1 result at Kenilworth Road following a 2-0 defeat at Blackburn Rovers the previous Saturday. However, in context, Argyle have lost just one in six, and have won three in a row at Home Park.

“The schedule seems heavy and busy for us, but that’s okay,” Head Coach Miron Muslic told Argyle TV. “I think these are very tough games, very competitive games, very close games.

“I think we proved a couple of days ago in Luton that we have the capacity to challenge in those kinds of games and even to come back in challenging moments of the game. It is never easy bouncing back when you are 1-0 down.

“[Cardiff] is a big one. We know the importance of this game. If we can remain calm with a cool mind, and still organised and structured, trying again to enjoy defending and create more threat, it could be very uncomfortable for Cardiff.

“I think if we can perform like we have performed over the last couple of weeks, there are still a lot of opportunities for us to be very, very successful.

“The plan is to go all-in, to leave everything on the pitch, to sacrifice again from the first until the last whistle. Then we have all the chances to reward ourselves with the three points.

“This is exactly what we will try to do from the first whistle tomorrow, not hesitating to go direct, to go vertical, to go in behind.

“[Cardiff] have a lot of individual quality; a lot of good, good players with the ball. But I think there are also some things we can take advantage of in their style of play, especially if we can do other things right, like against West Brom, against Liverpool, against Millwall. There I see opportunities for us, and it’s just up to us to create those moments where we can turn them, attack them, and then reward us with goals.

“That’s exactly what we tried to do, what we tried to change, to create again the [feeling of] Home Park into a fortress. It should be very, very difficult to come in and play against us.

“The Green Army will just be behind us and support us in every single action, support us in every duel, support us in every attack and make it very uncomfortable for Cardiff. I think we’re on a good way to create this.”
