Matheus Cunha sends relegation rallying cry to Wolves squad with ‘most important’ claim..

Wolves moved five points above the relegation zone with a hard-fought win against Bournemouth.

After Wolves were humiliated by Bournemouth at Molineux in November, the Old Gold sought redemption at the Vitality on match day 26.

Vitor Pereira led his squad to a much-needed win on the South Coast, as a Matheus Cunha goal in the first half was enough to take all three points back to the Midlands.

Cunha was Wolves’ saviour once again, scoring his 13th Premier League goal of the season to take his side away from the relegation zone.

Matheus Cunha highlighted ‘most important’ thing Wolves must improve
The fight for Premier League survival isn’t over for Wolves but, winning against Bournemouth when Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton lost was a triumph.

With a five point cushion, Pereira will be delighted that his side have the room to fine-tune in areas away from solely grinding for three points.

After the win against Bournemouth, Cunha identified one area that he hopes the Wolves squad can improve in, labelling it the ‘most important’ task.

“We have this kind of quality, and I think the second half against Liverpool showed this. We played against the best team in the season right now, and we showed we can keep going and have the personality to do what we need to do to win every game in the season,” Cunha told Wolves’ official website.

“But I think we need to be a little bit more clever to keep the level and not drop this kind of ‘good performance, bad performance’, we need to find a way to be regular, and I think this is most important to stay in the Premier League.”

Cunha referenced Wolves’ impressive second-half display against Liverpool at Anfield, stressing that the squad are capable of playing at a remarkable level but are missing consistency.

The quality in Wolves’ squad gives them the upper hand in the race for survival, with the victory against Bournemouth proving just that.

Plenty to prove in Wolves’ next five Premier League fixtures.

Cunha wants to see consistency, as does everyone associated with Wolves and fortunately, the chance to achieve such goal is there.

While no Premier League game can be considered straightforward, the Old Gold have a run of encouraging match ups in their schedule.
