Paul Mullin could make triumphant Wrexham return after Phil Parkinson issues ‘very unlikely’ claim..
Paul Mullin may finally be given a chance to start a game for Wrexham following his recent snub.
Wrexham signed Jay Rodriguez and Sam Smith shortly before the 2025 winter transfer window drew to a close.
This meant, as no strikers left, Phil Parkinson now has seven different centre-forward, plus Elliot Lee, competing for two positions.
Currently, as is to be expected given they have just arrived, Smith and Rodriguez have been the main pairing in the league.
Behind them, Jack Marriott has been the backup to the former Burnley ace, and Fletcher the big-man option off the bench for the ex-Reading hitman.
In turn, we have not seen much of Paul Mullin or Ollie Palmer in the last couple of weeks, though that could change very soon.

Paul Mullin could return for Wrexham soon
A shin injury kept Mullin out of meetings with Port Vale and Crawley Town but he’s since recovered from that.
However, despite returning to fitness, Parkinson left him out of matchday squads for meetings with Northampton Town, Bolton Wanderers and Leyton Orient.
After the midweek defeat to Orient, Wrexham fans want Mullin to return and it looks as though they will finally get their wish.
Starting against Mansfield Town, the Welsh outfit have three games in less than a week and when discussing the upcoming schedule, Parkinson confirmed changes to the team will need to be made, as per Leader Live.
“We go into the game at the weekend picking a team with what’s ahead of us in mind as well because it will be very unlikely that the same team plays the next three games when you go Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday.
“We’ve got a bit of time as staff to reflect on Orient and pick the team we feel is ready to go at the weekend.”
This is great news for Mullin, as he will surely be given a run out in one of the three fixtures set to take place in the next seven days.
Phil Parkinson message ahead of Mansfield Town
Ahead of the meeting with Mansfield, Wrexham are on a run of just three wins from eight in League One.
Another loss on Sunday could all but end their chances of winning promotion via the automatic spots.
But Parkinson is hopeful his players will be ready to bounce back against The Stags.
He said: “We are obviously disappointed but we have got to move on quickly,” he added.
“The games come thick and fast, so you’ve very quickly got another chance on Sunday to put right what we didn’t do well, and we’ll certainly do that.
“We need to take some of the the good stuff we did first half because some of the play when we moved it quickly was really good.
“But we needed more of it in the second period so we’ll be looking to put in a more consistent performance across the 90 minutes than than we did against Orient.
“We will come out and respond. There’s lots of football left in this season yet.”
