Oliver Glasner praised Tyrick Mitchell for the way he dealt with Fulham attacker Adama Traore in Crystal Palace’s 2-0 win on Saturday.
Mitchell was involved in a mix-up with Jefferson Lerma in last weekend’s 2-1 defeat at home to Everton and was taken off after 60 minutes for January signing Ben Chilwell.
The Palace academy graduate kept Traore quiet throughout the clash at Craven Cottage and played the full 90 minutes as Marco Silva’s side failed to register a shot on target.
Glasner said: “I said to him before the game: ‘You defended Antonie Semenyo and he didn’t have a finish in the whole game. You defended Mohamed Salah and he didn’t have a finish. Today, it was Adama Traore who didn’t get a finish because we trust in you.’
“He was a little bit upset with himself.
“He had a great pass, but his first touch was not good.
“He wanted to score like Daniel Munoz. It’s good the players want to improve.
“It was a good performance from him.”
