Dean Henderson sends Sheffield United v Leeds United message
Leeds United travel down to Sheffield United this evening looking to further strengthen their grip on top spot tonight, but the Blades are going to be fired up for a massive game.
Daniel Farke and Chris Wilder find themselves in the top two yet again in the Championship, and both will be hoping the top two remains as is by the time we reach May.
Their chances of clearing a gap to Burnley behind them comes tonight as they face off at Bramall Lane, with Leeds top of the league by two points as things stand.
Dean Henderson sends pre-match Sheffield United message ahead of Leeds clash
The last time, Sheffield United and Leeds were in a promotion bout, they were bested at Elland Road by Wilder’s men thanks to a sole Chris Basham strike – an iconic goal in the Blades’ recent history.
One individual who was at the thick of the discussion that day was Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson in the Blades goal, getting plenty of stick from the home fans but ending up having the last laugh with victory and then promotion.
As the Blades posted on social media to preview the match, the Crystal Palace stopper replied below:
Sheffield United v Leeds United predictions?
Leeds have huge opportunity to lay down marker to Burnley and Sheffield United
Having beaten Sunderland, this game doesn’t represent the absolute ‘must win’ territory that it probably does for the Blades, but we still need to be looking to win.
It’s hard to see how Farke might set Leeds up for this game, given how he’s managed games like Burnley away, where he’s clearly ensured Leeds don’t lose as opposed to pushing all out for a win.
The home side are going to be fired up here, with Wilder knowing defeat would be a nightmare for them as Burnley breathe down their necks – it’s up to us to quell that atmosphere.
