Man Utd without eight players vs Ipswich as Ruben Amorim stretched thin
Ruben Amorim is facing an injury crisis at Manchester United and will be without eight first-team players for the Premier League clash against Ipswich Town.
Old Trafford is bracing for a challenging evening as Manchester United, under the guidance of Ruben Amorim, face Ipswich Town with a severely depleted squad.
The Red Devils are eager to snap a three-match w
inless streak in the Premier League but will have to navigate the fixture without eight sidelined players.
Following a 2-2 draw with Everton, Amorim confirmed in his pre-match briefing that no injured players would be returning in time to face the Tractor Boys.
The injury list includes Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount, Jonny Evans, and Toby Collyer, all of whom are still on the mend. To compound United’s woes, Lisandro Martinez and Amad Diallo are ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Noussair Mazraoui’s recent knee injury adds to Amorim’s concerns, potentially leading him to rely on young talents from the academy to fill the bench, as seen in recent matches against Everton and Tottenham where Ayden Heaven, Harry Amass, Sekou Kone, Chido Obi-Martin, and Elyh Harrison were among the substitutes.
Amorim said: “Amad is out for a long time. I think Mason [Mount] continues to make his recovery, Luke [Shaw] continues to make his recovery. I don’t have a day.”
He added:”Toby [Collyer] seems to be the closest one but not now. Kobbie is recovering. We have to adapt to use the players that we have for the schedule.”
