Suns are swept out of the NBA playoffs, and the Bradley Beal trade didn't work - The Washington Post

Suns Named Among Favorites to Land Former MVP From 76ers in Offseason

This season has been a disaster thus far for the Phoenix Suns and they may already be looking ahead to possible roster changes in the offseason. Entering the season, the Suns were expected to compete near the top of the Western Conference thanks to their superstar trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, as well as having one of the largest payrolls in the NBA. Instead, they have had a terrible season.

Phoenix currently sits 11th in the West standings with a 27-31 record. Because of this, they currently find themselves two and a half games back of the Sacramento Kings of the final Play-In spot. With the Suns’ playoff hopes slowly slipping away, their attention may now be turning to the offseason. Of course, Phoenix tried to make some moves ahead of the trade deadline but failed to do so.

That may change in the offseason though, as the Suns could look to move on from both Durant and Beal after shopping them ahead of the deadline. If the Suns were to move on from their two stars, they could look to replace them with a former MVP winner from the Philadelphia 76ers in Joel Embiid. According to Bovada, the Suns have the fourth-best odds (+2500) to land Embiid in the offseason. The Toronto Raptors are the favorite (+1500) to land the star center and they are followed by the Atlanta Hawks (+1800) and Houston Rockets (+1800).
