Andy Reid urges Stoke City to take Mark Robins action amid poor run of form
Andy Reid has urged Stoke City to give Mark Robins time amid their recent run of poor form.
The Potters have fallen to 20th in the Championship table following their 3-1 loss to Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.
Robins’ side have now lost three of their last four league games, leaving them just five points clear of the relegation zone with only 12 fixtures remaining.
The 55-year-old was appointed by Stoke in January, becoming the third permanent manager to oversee a game for the club this season, also including Narcis Pelach and Steven Schumacher.

Reid believes that the Stoke owners and sporting director Jonathan Walters need to have patience with Robins amid the threat of relegation to League One.
He suggested giving the ex-Coventry City boss until next season, giving him time to bring in his own players, before making any more drastic changes in the dugout.
“They need to give Mark Robins the time and backing to bring in players,” said Reid, via the Football Daily podcast.
“He knows players and how to develop them.

The current Bolton Wanderers manager was sacked by the Potters at the start of the season, but the situation has not improved at all.

“I do wonder what the strategy will be at Stoke because it’s been so bitty.
“Different managers bring in a few players and the next manager comes in and they don’t like those players and then the cycle begins again and they haven’t been able to get it right.
“What I’d be saying if I was the owner or Jon Walters is let’s commit to Mark Robins for the rest of this season and the season after and then review it.
“Just give him some time to build something because Stoke need that stability – I don’t think he needs loads of money as he’s shown he can spot a player and can make them better.”
Next up for Stoke is a home clash against Watford on 1 March in a 3pm kick-off.
