Top QB Prospect Cam Ward ‘Hopes to Be’ Top Piece For Jets

NFL Draft season is in full swing as February winds down and March opens up. The New York Jets find themselves in an interesting position this draft season. The team has the No. 7 pick in the upcoming draft, and doesn’t have a clear answer at quarterback. This year’s draft seemingly has a clear top-two when it comes to quarterbacks: Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward.

Ward has been rising up draft boards for months, and is seen as the favorite to be the first quarterback taken off the board. Ward was able to speak to Jets head coach Aaron Glenn at the Draft Combine, and Ward was asked by reporters about the franchise. “They can be elite,” Ward said. “Especially with the receiver core that that they have and the defense that they have. Being able to talk with their head coach for the first time was exciting.
