Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham’ – Rob McElhenney has ‘LOTS of comments’ after being brutally snubbed in £100m Red Dragons update
Rob McElhenney tweeted that he has ‘LOTS’ to say after a report referred to “Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham” with no mention for him.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Bloomberg Business tweeted that “Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham AFC is now worth 4,900% more at £100 million”. McElhenney said he has “lots of comments” on the editorial choice to not name him.
WHAT MCELHENNEY SAID
Posting a picture of the Bloomberg report, McElhenney tweeted: “I cannot comment on the substance of the headline but I have LOTS of comments of the editorial choices made here. LOTS.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Reynolds and McElhenney have co-owned Wrexham since 2021, leading them from the National League into League One and transforming the club into a globally-recognised brand. The pair have overseen the progress together, hence McElhenney’s unhappiness at it being attributed to Reynolds alone.
WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?
Wrexham are in contention to win their third consecutive promotion, sitting third in League One with a top-two position required to go up automatically. They play Reading on Tuesday before a huge game at second-placed Wycombe next Saturday.
