Chelsea formulating offer to sign Jobe Bellingham
Chelsea will reportedly compete with Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace to sign 19-year-old English prodigy Jobe Bellingham from EFL Championship club Sunderland.
According to a report by Alan Nixon on The Sun, Jobe Bellingham is the subject of interest from Chelsea. Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on signing the Sunderland prodigy, while Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund want to take him to the Bundesliga. However, the Blues want to beat the competition to the English midfield sensation’s signature this year.
The rise and rise of Jobe Bellingham
Jobe Bellingham has established himself as one of the most promising young prospects in his homeland in the last few years. The younger brother of Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, the Englishman began his professional career as a budding teenager at Birmingham City FC before joining Sunderland in July 2023.
The 19-year-old has been a pivotal figure for the Black Cats in the last 18 months, going from strength to strength with each passing month. The youngster has turned out 79 times thus far for the EFL Championship club while chipping in with 11 goals and four assists. Meanwhile, his progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of Premier League clubs like Chelsea, Crystal Palace, and Tottenham Hotspur.
A man in demand
Crystal Palace will dip into the market for a new midfielder in the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding Will Hughes’s long-term future. So, Bellingham has emerged as a viable target for the South London club. However, Crystal Palace will face stiff competition from two London giants for the English youth international’s signature.
