Coventry City news from CoventryLive as Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris puts his coaching hat on to assess Haji Wright’s impressive display against his team
Regis Le Bris put his disappointment of Sunderland’s result at Coventry City to one side to give a fulsome critique of Haji Wright’s match winning performance for the Sky Blues.
The Black Cats boss watched from the sidelines as City’s USA international tore into his defenders, scoring two goals from open play either side of winning and converting a penalty to secure a memorable hat-trick and inflict a comprehensive defeat on his players.
Wright’s contribution was all he more impressive given that it was only the 26-year-old’s second start back after four months out with an ankle injury, and first goal since he suffered the significant setback a the Stadium of Light in early November when he helped he Sky Blues to a 2-2 draw.
The affable Frenchman was asked by CoventryLive what he thought about Wright’s individual display on the day and, putting his frustration aside and placing his coaching hat firmly on his head, Le Bris responded with this generous and classy reply.
