June deal for genuinely exciting midfield powerhouse
Had Graham Potter been installed before Christmas, when the Lopetegui crisis was entering its most painful phase, I suspect this signing would have been done and dusted in the January window. The Hammers were in enormous turmoil behind the scenes, with not only Lopetegui but technical director Tim Steidten on his way out the door and reportedly Hammers’ transfer business was overseen by vice chair Karren Brady.

The 20 year old midfielder has improved, even since December, best described by getfootballnews.bene.com:

Yet, while his numbers in attack are decent, his defensive output passes the eye test and looks good on paper. He wins well over half of his duels on the ground, with a 60% success rate in the air.”

One deal which the Hammers must surely revive in June, as part of Potters ‘affordable rebuild.’
€15 million? Peanuts for a player who can play on the left or centrally in midfield as a genuine box to box midfielder, which is the gaping gap in Potter’s current lethargic midfield.
Maybe just do the deal instead of fighting with the likes of Borussia Dortmund who are now said to be on the scene as well.
