
All fans heading to St James’ Park for the women’s Newcastle v Sunderland derby match can take advantage of free travel.
An official Newcastle United announcement (see below) on Thursday revealing the initiative. Fans able to travel free on buses and metro services to St James’ Park.
The Newcastle United Women’s team taking on Sunderland, with already guaranteed to be a record crowd for a second tier women’s match.
On Wednesday, the club also revealed that the Carabao Cup will be paraded at St James’ Park on Sunday.
You can turn up and pay this afternoon (kick-off is 2pm), prices £10 and £2 concessions.
However, if you buy online HERE before 10am this Sunday morning, you will pay £8 and £2 for concessions.

‘Fans attending the Tyne-Wear derby between Newcastle United Women and Sunderland Women are being offered free transport to St. James’ Park on Sunday, 23rd March, thanks to a sustainable travel initiative driven by the club.
A league-record crowd is anticipated to attend the Barclays Women’s Championship fixture, with the club also set to break their record of 28,565 for a women’s game.
Supporters are encouraged to take advantage of free public transport to and from the match – facilitated by Newcastle City Council and Nexus – designed to reduce fans’ carbon footprint on matchday.
