Sunderland host Millwall this weekend as they look to bounce back after defeat before the international break.
Sunderland have had a great season and looks set to finish in the play-off places. SAFC had been in the hunt for the top two but have fallen away over the last two months.
The Black Cats, 4th in the table, need to turn their form around before the play-offs to avoid stumbling into them. After such a strong season it would be a shame for them to end on a sour note.
Last time out, Sunderland were beaten 3-0 away at Coventry City. Given the fact that the game could be repeated in the play-off semi-final, they will have been particularly disappointed with the performance.
Millwall meanwhile are in decent form, winning three of their last five games. That form has given them an outside chance of finishing in the play-off places this campaign.
A win for the Lions could see the gap to the top six shrink to just three points. Millwall are managed by former SAFC boss Alex Neil, who would love to get one over on his former side as he is expected to get a poor reception.
Last time out, Millwall beat Stoke City 1-0 before the international break. Mihailo Ivanovic’s 94th-minute penalty won the game for The Lions.
