After this international break, Leeds have just eight games left to retain their position at the top of the Championship, looking for automatic promotion after missing out in the playoffs last season.
There are transfer decisions awaiting Leeds from the moment they confirm their league status for next season, including their two solid loan signings from this season – Manor Solomon and Joe Rothwell.
If the decision on Rothwell’s permanent future was put to a vote amongst Leeds fans, it would be an overwhelming vote in favour of signing the midfielder from Bournemouth.
After his decent stint at Southampton last season, and his standout showings this term, Rothwell is likely eyeing a long-term home to play football next season, but insists that isn’t on his mind right now at Elland Road.
“I’ve not really thought about it,” Rothwell told LeedsLive. “You know, the full focus now is getting the club back to the Premier League.
“I’ve said it from day dot really, I’ve loved my time here and whether that continues, that’s not up to me. That’s between the club and my agent, but I’ll just concentrate on doing what I’ve got to do and hopefully help this club get back up to the Premier League.
“I haven’t (had permanent transfer talks). I’ve not looked into it or pushed through [with] it. The full focus is getting the club back up.”
