Bradley Beal Issues Strong Statement on Suns’ Roster Amid NBA Playoffs Chase

The Phoenix Suns are 35-41. If the regular season ended today, they wouldn’t even be in the play-in tournament. However, Suns shooting guard Bradley Beal still believes the team can make a late-season run. “We still can make a run,” Beal told Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic. “Obviously we’ve got to be healthy, get healthy, be available.

The playoffs, anything can happen, man, but we’re a talented team and believe in what we can do. We’ve just got to give ourselves that opportunity.” Beal is currently out with a hamstring injury. The Florida product has appeared in 48 games this season. He’s averaging 17.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists while shooting 50.5% from the field, 39.5% from beyond the arc and 81.3% from the free-throw line. “Feel good, better, a lot better,” Beal said. “I’m progressing well. Doing everything necessary treatment wise. No setbacks. Just getting the sprinting in and supportive of teammates, the last piece where I feel super comfortable and feel like I can explode and attack the way I know I can.” The Suns acquired Beal from the Washington Wizards in 2023.

A three-time All-Star, Beal has missed 63 games and counting with Phoenix. “It’s not ideal, obviously, it’s not fun,” Beal said. “You don’t enjoy it. You control what you can control. That’s all I can do. I always preach about being available and that’s something I’m definitely kicking myself about, but that’s sometimes how the cookie crumbles. All I can do is keep my head up and keep getting better. The staff has been great, my body is in a better place and I feel really good right now. Hopefully it continues to stay that way.” Beal has a no-trade clause in his contract. The Suns can’t trade him unless he signs off on a deal.
