CHARLTON ATHLETIC boss Nathan Jones has described Wrexham as a “circus” ahead of his side’s crucial League One clash against the Reds at The Racecourse on Saturday.
Phil Parkinson’s men won 2-1 at Blackpool on Monday and are back up to second in the table, two points ahead of Wycombe Wanderers who slipped to third place following their 4-0 home defeat to Charlton.
There are two games remaining in the quest for automatic promotion and the fourth placed Addicks are four points behind the Reds.
Wrexham are in the box seat in the race for a top-two finish to go straight up to the Championship alongside title winners Birmingham City and secure an historic third successive promotion.
In an interview aired on ITV4’s English Football League Highlights show, Jones called Wrexham – owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney – a circus.
“All we do is take a game as it comes,” he said.
“We are not looking at the play-offs, we are not looking at Burton at home on the final game.
“We’ll finish, we’ll debrief, we’ll breathe a little bit and then we’ll move forward with Wrexham.
“It’s a bumper game, we have to go to the circus and see what we can get.”
