Guardians, Boston Red Sox lineups for April 26 (Game 1): Game 25
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Doubleheaders of all kinds have not treated the Guardians well over the last two years.
They went 0-8 in double dips last year and were 1-15 overall in 2023 and 2024.
Nevertheless, right-hander Ben Lively (1-2, 3.86) on Saturday will face Tanner Houck (0-2, 7.66) in Game 1, which is scheduled to start at 1:10 p.m.
Lefty Doug Nikhazy, the 27th man for today’s doubleheader, will start the second game at 6:10 p.m. Nikhazy, who faces Walker Buehler, will be making his big league debut.
The doubleheader was caused by Friday’s postponement because of rain and cold.
